Experience

Jenny has several decades of lived experience with Intellectual Disability and ASD including living and engaging with the local disability community and providers. Her background in Family Services and Administrative roles spans 30 years. Jenny has an Accounts and Administrative background in Government, Private Hospital’s and has extensive knowledge of the NDIS as a Plan Nominee and a Support Coordinator. Jenny’s empathy and ability to listen to clients and assist them to understand their plan is her greatest strength. Jenny has a deep understanding in navigating NDIS processes, accessing relevant services and brings a wealth of knowledge to her role.

As well as paid experience Jenny has contributed to the local community through a multitude of volunteer roles including being President of the Special Developmental School (SDS) committee and a general committee member of mainstream schools and kindergartens. Other roles have included: Nursing Home Activities Support Coordinator, Kindergarten Integration Aide, Scout Member, Cub Leader, Lions Club – underprivileged kids camp leader, and is currently a Radio Presenter – local community radio 99.1fm

Education

Certificate IV Liberal Arts, Qualified Massage Therapist, Makaton/Keyword Signs, and Level 1 & 2 Australian Sign Language. Jenny has a partially competed Bachelor of Arts with a Major in Gender, Sexuality, and Diversity. Jenny has also completed training in Working with Neurodivergent Participants, Psychosocial Support Coordination, and Specialist Support Coordination.

Interests

Practitioner of Reiki, Mindfulness, Holistic Well-being, Meditation, and Teachings.

A collector of gemstones loves nature and camping in quiet locations away from the hustle and bustle, gardening, reading, photography, and traveling to name just a few.
