We tailor make our Short Term Accommodation trips to places all across Victoria
Our trips can include resorts, farm stays, or respite in the city for up to 14 days so that you have choice and control over where you want to go and how long you’ll be able to stay. A support worker from Recovery Options will accompany you and let you decide what you would like to do while you’re away, so when you return, you’re fully charged, refreshed and return to your balanced self.
Take a Restorative Break With Short Term Accommodation (STA)
Short Term Accommodation (STA) is now Short Term Accommodation (STA) — and at Recovery Options, we make your respite experience supportive, comfortable and rejuvenating.
STA is all about giving you and your informal carers a meaningful break. It’s not about tourism or holidays — it’s about real rest, restored energy, and feeling supported in the way that matters most.
What’s Included in Your STA Stay
- Comfortable, standard accommodation
- Support worker accommodation (if overnight support is required)
- Daily living supports like personal care, meal preparation and cleaning
- Everything is designed to help you feel refreshed — without the pressure of holiday-style travel.
Who STA Is For?
You may be eligible if you:
- Have a primary informal carer providing 6+ hours of disability-related support daily
- Need respite due to the functional impact of your disability
- Require a break to maintain your wellbeing or prevent carer fatigue
- Live with or receive daily support from informal carers
- Your Respite, Your Way — within NDIA Guidelines
Participants can use STA for:
- Up to 28 days per year
- Up to 14 days per stay
- We make the process simple by guiding you through what the NDIS will and won’t fund, so your respite is approved, smooth and stress-free.
